Abstract

New media raises many questions about research and on the diffusion of oral literature of Africa. How does comparing text and performance in different cultural areas enrich scholars' analyses? What methodological precautions must one take in diffusing oral literature by hypermedia? How does one improve the repercussions for the producers of the literature at a local level? These questions will be studied through the example of international projects on the research and the teaching of African oral literature, and the Encyclopaedia of Literature in African Languages project.
