Dear Readers,

The past season has been exceptionally busy for the journal, and I am pleased to announce several major changes. Most significant is the partnership we have entered into with the North American Nietzsche Society (NANS) to become the venue for select papers from their annual meetings. This new arrangement will result in an expansion of JNS in 2013 to three issues annually. This issue is the first to feature NANS papers. I am especially grateful to Richard Schacht, executive director of NANS, Patrick Alexander, director at Penn State University Press, the JNS editorial board, and the program committee of NANS for their patience, guidance, and good will as we worked out the details of this exciting new venture.

With this new development, we happily welcome a new associate editor, Jessica Berry, who joins the editorial team with primary responsibilities for the NANS issue. Berry is no stranger to the journal, as she was the guest editor of issue 42, our most recent. She is associate professor of philosophy at Georgia State University in Atlanta and author of Nietzsche and the Ancient Skeptical Tradition (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2011). Her work on Nietzsche and Greek thought has appeared in many other venues.

We also heartily welcome Simon Robertson, who assumed the position of book review editor in February. Robertson is a lecturer in philosophy at Cardiff University. He has published several articles, in journals and edited collections, both on Nietzsche and on contemporary ethics. Much of his recent research has been concerned with assessing Nietzsche's significance for contemporary ethical theory. Simon is coeditor (with Christopher Janaway) of Nietzsche, Naturalism and Normativity (Oxford: Oxford University Press, forthcoming) and editor of Spheres of Reason (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2009).

Since the publication of our last issue, we launched our new manuscript submission and tracking system on Editorial Manager (http://www.editorialmanager.com/jns), which we hope will allow us to make even more improvements in our response time to authors of submissions and will certainly make it easier for authors to monitor the progress of their work as it makes its way through our editorial processes. We are grateful to Penn State University Press for making this available to us. [End Page 1]

Finally, beginning with this issue, JNS moves to using a new numbering system for its issues. There will be annual volume numbers with individual issue numbers. Thus, this issue bears the number JNS 43.1. It is a large issue with articles that I am sure will spark interesting discussions.

We welcome your letters, suggestions, and submissions, and we hope you will join us in celebrating these new developments. [End Page 2]
