With this first issue of 2012 we welcome a new Co-editor to the Canadian Modern Language Review, Danièle Moore, and acknowledge the contributions of the outgoing Co-editor, Diane Dagenais, who has come to the end of her three-year term. Diane has been involved with the CMLR for ten years, first as an Editorial Board member, then as Secretary-Treasurer, Associate Editor, and finally Co-editor. This deep understanding of the CMLR, in addition to her extensive knowledge of qualitative forms of inquiry in second language teaching and learning, made her a wonderful asset to the journal. Danièle Moore has also served on the CMLR Editorial Board, most recently as President, and brings considerable research expertise in a range of areas including bilingualism and multilingualism and French second language education. In addition, as a board member and Co-president of Recherches et applications/ Le français dans le monde, she has initiated an article exchange between the two journals; the next contribution will appear in the second issue of volume 68.

We would also like to thank two outgoing Editorial Board members for their valued contributions to the CMLR: Peter Macintyre (Vice-President) and Pavel Trofimovich (Associate Editor). Finally, we welcome our new Associate Editor, Murray Munro. Murray has served on the Advisory Committee of the CMLR for several years, and we are delighted that he has accepted our invitation to join the editorial team.

Dans ce premier numéro de l’année 2012, la Revue canadienne des langues vivantes accueille une nouvelle corédactrice en chef, en la personne de Danièle Moore. Danièle prend la relève de Diane Dagenais, dont nous saluons par la même occasion les nombreux apports à la RCLV à titre de corédactrice pendant les trois dernières années. En réalité, cela fait dix ans que Diane participe aux activités de la RCLV :d’abord membre du comité de rédaction, elle a occupé ensuite le poste de secrétairetrésorière, puis de rédactrice en chef associée avant de devenir corédactrice en chef. Sa compréhension détaillée de la RCLV, jointe à une vaste connaissance des méthodes qualitatives de recherche dans le domaine de l’enseignement et de l’apprentissage des langues secondes, a fait d’elle une collaboratrice extraordinaire pour notre périodique. Danièle Moore a siégé elle aussi au comité de rédaction de la revue, dont elle était jusqu’à tout récemment la présidente. Elle jouit d’une expertise remarquable en matière de recherche dans une grande variété de domaines, dont le bilinguisme, le multilinguisme et l’éducation en français langue seconde. De plus, à titre de membre du conseil d’administration et de coprésidente de Recherches et applications/Le français dans le monde, elle est à l’origine d’un échange d’articles entre les deux périodiques; le prochain de la série paraîtra dans le deuxième numéro du volume 68.

Nous tenons à remercier également deux membres sortants de notre comité de rédaction pour leur précieuse contribution : Peter Macintyre (vice-président) et Pavel Trofimovich (rédacteur en chef associé). Enfin, nous souhaitons la bienvenue à notre nouveau rédacteur associé, Murray Munro. Murray fait partie du comité consultatif de la RCLV depuis plusieurs années déjà et nous sommes ravies qu’il ait accepté notre invitation à se joindre au comité de rédaction.
