Mask Use by Chimpanzees

A chimpanzee was observed in its interactions with six prefabricated masks, a mirror, and a language keyboard. The chimp created and used its own mask in ritualized play behavior with its caregiver, expanding human considerations of ethology, performance theory, and drama.
