Shirley Adams is Provost at Charter Oak State College. She has over forty years of experience as an administrator in adult and higher education, having earned her Ph.D. from Iowa State University in Professional Studies with an emphasis on adult and vocational education, her M.A. from the University of Iowa in Education with an emphasis on community college and higher education administration, and her B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa in secondary education/English.

Sean M. Barnes received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Binghamton University (State University of New York) and is now a postdoctoral fellow at the Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center of the VA Rocky Mountain Network. His current research focuses on suicide prevention.

Tony Esposito is Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Bridgewater State University.

Braden J. Hosch is Director of Policy and Research, Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education. He oversees policy initiatives and research for the Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education, has led assessment and institutional effectiveness offices at several public and private colleges and universities, and most recently served as Director of Policy, Finance, and Academic Affairs at the Connecticut Department of Higher Education.

Sean McKitrick is Assistant Provost and Director of the Office of Institutional Research & Assessment at Binghamton University (State University [End Page v] of New York). His duties include overseeing the institutional research office, strategic planning, and student learning assessment.

D. David Ostroth is Vice President for Student Affairs at Bridgewater State University.

Cathryn Turrentine is Director of Institutional Research at Keene State College; at the time of this study she was Acting Assistant Director of Institutional Research and Assessment at Bridgewater State University.

Michael D. Young is Associate Provost for Academic Planning and Administration at Bridgewater State University.

Judy Zubro earned her Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania. She is presently Dean of Foundational Studies, Liberal Arts & Sciences at Northern Essex Community College. When this article was written, she was Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Assessment at Granite State College. [End Page vi]
