Editors' Note


Spring brings a new volume and a fresh look to the Bulletin: the front matter (the pages that lead up to the first article) has been redesigned to look crisp and save space. More important, thanks to the suggestion of Elizabeth Fee--Chief of the History of Medicine at the National Library of Medicine and a former member of our editorial board--Bulletin articles now begin with summaries and keywords. These additions should make articles more accessible to searchers online and, in the process, increase the Bulletin's visibility.

And, as always, the spring of the year brings new editorial board members. Joining the Bulletin's board this year are Ynez O'Neill, Sheila Rothman, George Weisz, and James Whorton. The editors welcome them all and look forward to their counsel over the next three years. We also thank departing board members Michael Bliss, Elizabeth Fee, John Harley Warner, and Dora Weiner for their advice and enthusiasm during their term of office.
