MELINDA MAUNSELL is a graduate student at die University of Victoria. SALLY MITCHELL is Professor of English and Women's Studies at Temple University, Philadelphia, and a former president of die Research Society for Victorian Periodicals. Her most recent book is Daily Life in Victorian England (Greenwood, 1996). She is now doing research towards a biography of Frances Power Cobbe.
