She has adapted Jane Austen's piece of juvenilia, The Beautifull Cassandra" (sic), as a picture book for children. The characters have become small animale, on the Beatrix Potter model, and are dressed in the fashions of 1788, the probable date of the story. The enterprise has been conditionally accepted by McGiIlQueen 's University Press, and, if all goes well, may be out in 1993. R. D.
