America Strikes Back? Critical Media Literacy in Times of War is a multimedia, Flash 6 website designed to encourage users to analyze contradictory stories about U.S. policy towards Iraq and Afghanistan represented in conservative-, liberal-, and progressive-biased international and domestic print media. Ideally suited for anyone teaching or studying media, political events, and U.S. foreign policy, the site was conceived and is directed by Dr. Megan Boler, Interim Womens Studies Director at Virginia Tech. The site encourages discussion of such issues as media blackout, use of sources, absence of press coverage, and bias in any media. Access the site at http://www.tandl.vt.edu/Foundations/mediaproject/.
