  • Edward H. Friedman

We would like to announce that our managing editor, Vincent Martin, has accepted a position as Professor of Spanish at San Diego State University. This means a move not only for Dr. Martin and his family, but also for the Bulletin of the Comediantes, and we are most grateful to SDSU for its willingness to help sponsor the journal. In particular, Dr. Alda Blanco, Chair of Spanish and Portuguese, and Dr. Paul Wong, Dean of Arts and Letters, deserve thanks for their efforts in this regard. Through a fortuitous coincidence, the journal will now be based at the university where its founder, the benevolent and beloved Professor Everett W. Hesse, completed his illustrious career. As we congratulate Vincent Martin and wish him the very best, we would like to thank the University of Delaware, his former institution, for its support of the journal during the last several years, from the time that Dr. Martin began his term as managing editor. Our sincere thanks go to Dr. Richard Zipser, Chair of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and also to the excellent production team at University Printing: Dan Slaten, Jo Ellen Rathbun, and Rebecca Ramos.

We continue to invite submissions on early modern peninsular and colonial Latin American theater. Thanks to the fine scholars who are sending us their work, to the dedicated members of the advisory board, and very special thanks to Vincent Martin, assistant editor Gwen Stickney, and book review editor Thomas O’Connor. And, of course, to our subscribers and readers. [End Page vii]
