RMMLA Best Feminist Essay Award The judges for the RMMLA "Best Feminist Essay" award are pleased to announce the winner for 1991. Congratulations go to Michèle Lise Tarter, of the University ofColorado in Boulder, for her essay, "Nursing the New Wor(l)d: The Writings of Quaker Women in Early America." Michèle Lise Tarter will receive a $25 cash award, funded through seed money from the MLA Women's Caucus. Selecting a winner for this annual contest has never been easy, but this year was especially difficult. The submissions were of very high quality. This award marks the fifth year ofthe contest. The competition is held each fall immediately after the RMMLA Conference. Persons interested in entering need to submit a paper they have read at the conference. These submissions should be sent, by December 1, to Janice H. Harris, Department of English, University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming 82071.
