Rocky Mountain Review95 ANNOUNCEMENTS "Mississippi's Native Son: An International Symposium on Richard Wright," will be held at the University of Mississippi November 21 to 23, 1985, to mark the 25th anniversary of Wright's death. The keynote speaker will be Margaret Walker Alexander; other participants include Robert Bone, Nina K. Cobb, St. Clair Drake, Michel Fabre, Donald Gibson, Yoshinobu Hakutani, Norman Harris, Blyden Jackson, Keneth Kinnamon, Edward Margolies, Gerald McWorter, Maria Mootry, J. Saunders Redding, John M. Reilly, Amritjit Singh, Robert Stepto, and Jerry Ward. Sessions will be held on The Public and Private World of Richard Wright, Wright's Theories of Art and Society, Wright and the Third World, Wright's Literary Art, and Wright's Critical Reception, Legacy, and Influence. VERBATIM, The Language Quarterly, has announced its third worldwide contest inviting writers to submitoriginal articles for $2500 in prizes — $1000 First Prize, $500 Second Prize, and Third through Sixth Prizes $250. Articles should not exceed 2000 words and can be on any topic pertaining to language — how to speak it, write it, play with it, mutilate it, criticize it, or enliven it. All entries will be considered for publication in VERBATIM. The judges will be Professor Robert A.
