Erratum

Due to misinformation we received from the Hebrew University archives, we mistakenly noted in our article "Between Universalism and Particularism: The Origins of the Philosophy Department at Hebrew University and the Zionist Project" (Jewish Social Studies n.s. 9, no. 2 [Winter 2003]: 99-122) that Mordecai Roshwald, one of the department's first Ph.D. graduates, had passed away. In fact, Roshwald went on to become a member of the faculty at the Hebrew University for a number of years before moving to the United States, where he was professor for several decades at the University of Minnesota, published a number of books (including two works of fiction—Level Seven and A Small Armageddon—that were translated into numerous languages), and authored countless articles. His most recent philosophical books (Liberty and The Transient and the Absolute) appeared in the past couple of years. As professor emeritus, he continues to publish regularly, is a standing contributor of Hebrew-language reviews to Gesher, and resides in Silver Spring, Maryland. We apologize for the mistake.
