In the Fall 2002 issue of the Journal of Cold War Studies (Vol. 4, No. 4), Jeremi Suri makes two references to my writing, both of which happen to be incorrect.

Referring to my review of Georgii Arbatov's "The System," he claims that I have wrongly accused Arbatov and others like him of being "cowards." I made no such charge.

Elsewhere, referring to National Security Decision Directive 75, Suri asserts that I "wrote the first draft." In fact, I wrote both the first and the final drafts of this document.
