THE CONTRIBUTORS David haven blake, jr. teaches at Washington University and is currently writing a book on Walt Whitman and American political ihetoric. He has previously published an essay on John Dryden's Annus Mirabilis. CATHRYN halverson is completing a dissertation at the University of Michigan on turn-of-the-century American women writers, celebrity, and print culture. M. Keith booker is Associate Professor of English at the University of Arkansas. He is the author of numerous essays on literature and literary theory, and of several books, including Techniques of Transgression in Modern Literature, Literature and Domination, Vargas Llosa Among the Postmodernists, and The Dystopian Impulse in Modern Literature , as well as the forthcoming Joyce, Bakhtin, and the Literary Tradition. Robert dale parker is the author of Faulkner and the Novelistic Imagination, The Unbeliever: The Poetry of Elizabeth Bishop, "Absalom , Absalom!": The Questioning ofFictions, and articles on Faulkner and on the "post-canon." He teaches at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he is writing about D'Arcy McNickle and about the transcription of traditional Native American oral narrative as poetry. bob perelman's The Troubh with Genius: Reading Pound, Joyce, Stein, and Zukofsky is just out from University of California Press (1994); Princeton University Press will publish The Marginalization ofPoetry: Language Writing and Literary History in 1995. His most recent book of poems is Virtual Reality (New York: Roof Press, 1993). Stephen tatum is an Associate Professor and Chair of English at the University of Utah. His "Literature-Out-of-Doors" appeared in recent memory in American Literary History. ...
