THE CONTRIBUTORS charles Campbell has published essays in Dalhousie Review and English Studies in Canada, and has taught in Libya, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. He is currently at work on a book about George Eliot and Hawthorne. Gail Reitenbach has also published on the issue of voice in Thomas Campion's female persona poems. She is working on a book about contemporary American international novels. Judith roof has recently published A Lure of Knowledge: Lesbian Sexuality and Theory ( 1991 ). eric selinger is working on a dissertation entitled, "What Is It Then Between Us: Traditions of Love in American Poetty. " His essays and reviews have appeared in Agni, Black American Literature Forum, the Boston Phoenix, the Boston Review, and Contemporary Literature. george toles has co-authored the screenplays of the feature films Archangel (1990) and Careful (1992). He is completing a book on film and literature entitled The Limits of Irony, and has recently published in Raritan. xiao-huang yin has translated works by Crane, Cheever, and MaIamud into Chinese and speeches ofChairman Mao into English, and has written crosscultural analyses for American and Chinese publications , including an essay on The Scarlet Letter in China in American Review. ...
