Abstract

Although the Beijing Number One Historical Archives has closed its entire holding of original Ming and Qing documents, nonetheless there is a compensation in the form of four available kinds of archival reproductions: (1) over 100 volumes and sets of published documents; (2) microfilms; (3) digitized summaries and full copies of materials that may be viewed on screen; and (4) digitized and searchable materials available for on-screen viewing. At present all digitized materials have to be read on the Number One computers, but some microfilms may be purchased. Further information is available on the Number One website (www.lsdag.com).
