In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

Editor's Comment Studies in American Fiction is extending an invitation for the submission of articles, notes, and book reviews relating to the life and works of Mark Twain. We will devote the Autumn 1985 number to Twain studies, given a sufficiently rich body of submitted manuscripts, in commemoration of the centennial of the publication of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. We are especially interested in papers based on documents and new discoveries, but we will be grateful for studies of high quality regardless of critical approach . We have on file now a number of excellent essays for the special number, but not enough to fill an entire issue. The deadline for the submission of manuscripts is February 1, 1985. Please address questions and correspondence to the Editor. Our readers will be interested in the forthcoming conference "Hemingway: A Moveable Feast," to be held in Key West, January 10-13, 1985. This event, sponsored jointly by the Council for Florida Libraries, the Hemingway Society, and several other organizations, including The Miami Herald, will feature writers, scholars, celebrities, and members of the Hemingway family. Timothy O'Brien, George Plimpton, Robert Stone, and Charles Scribner, Jr. will all make presentations, as will Patrick Hemingway. Among the scholars giving papers are Scott Donaldson, Michael Reynolds, Linda Wagner, and Paul Smith. Registration is $100. For further information write the Council for Florida Libraries, 1700 East Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. Brian Swann (Cooper Union) and Arnold Krupat (Sarah Lawrence College) have invited essays for a volume on Native American Literature, especially papers that provide new insights into problems of translation or provide new literary interpretations. The deadline for submission is December 1. The Autumn 1985 issue of Modern Fiction Studies will be devoted to Sinclair Lewis. Submissions are welcome until May 1, 1985. The North Dakota Quarterly is devoting an issue to "Rural America: Its Values and Threats to Them." Please send papers by May 1 to the Editor, Robert W.
