Editor's Comment The Department of English at Northeastern University has announced the creation of its Center for Literary Studies. The topic for discussion in 1982-83 is "The Boundaries of Literary Criticism." Among the events for the center this year will be three presentations: On November 19, 1982, Gerald Graff of Northwestern University will speak on "Literary Criticism as Closet Politics." Richard M. Ohmann of Wesleyan University will serve as respondent. On January 28, 1983, Jonathan Culler of Cornell University will discuss "At the Boundaries: Barthes and Derrida" and Morton Bloomfield of Harvard University will respond. Joseph Margolis of Temple University will give a paper entitled "What is a Literary Text?" on April 15, 1983, and Susan Rubin Suleiman of Harvard University will respond. All events will begin at 4:00 at the Northeastern University Faculty Center, 96 The Fenway, in Boston. Guests are invited. Admission is free. * * * Leonard Orr of the University of Arkansas is the Editor of a new journal, Critical Texts, devoted to publishing reviews of books and monographs in the history of literary criticism and critical theory. Critical Texts will appear three times a year. Subscription rates are $5.00 for individuals and $8.00 for institutions. Raritan: A Quarterly Review, edited by Richard Poirier, is soliciting submissions on contemporary culture and intellectual movements.
