The author traces the current economic decline of Greece to domestic and foreign factors but argues persuasively that the collapse of the global economic system was by far the worst cause for the economic issues Greece faces and for that reason he doubts whether the involvement of International Monetary Fund and the European Union in Greece's domestic affairs will resolve the current crisis.
