Abstract

Students can and should be prepared for lifelong learning and responsible citizenship. These ends may be achieved via the integration, into existing curricula, of a comprehensive overview of the phenomena of interest to scholars, the types of theory and methods used by scholars, and the types of ethical analysis. These curricular reforms are derived from a definition of interdisciplinarity, which is in turn deduced from the characteristics of disciplines. The nature and benefits of these curricular reforms are detailed.
