This article uses Michel Foucault's heterotopias and Gilles Deleuze's any-spaces-whatever to explore spaces in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. This study illustrates how the spatial ambiguity of Hogwarts and the Room of Requirement both force Rowling's protagonists and readers to subvert authority and to confront the limits of agency.
