Editor's Notes The HerbertAllusion Book: Allusions to George Herbert in the Seventeenth Century by Robert H. Ray was completed in 1 983 and has been approved for publication in fall, 1986, as a volume in the Texts and Studies series by Studios in Philology. The primary model for Professor Ray's work was the twovolume Spenser Allusions, published in the same series. The Herbert Allusion Book contains allusions by approximately 170 individuals (in about 150 books and 85 manuscripts). The work also contains a bibliography of books and articles (through 1983) that note and discuss allusions to Herbert. The Eighth Annual Le Moyne Forum on Religion and Literature will be held October 18-20, 1985, and the organizers are soliciting papers for the program. The topic is Salvation and Damnation in the Religion and Literature of the Earlier and Later Seventeenth Century. Keynote speakers will be Mary Ann Radzinowicz and Christopher Hill. Send completed paper and three copies to William P. Shaw, Department of English, Le Moyne College, Syracuse, New York 13214 no later than July 15, 1985. Selected papers will be published. The first conference and initial meeting of Tho John Donne Society will be held at the Gulfport Conference Center of the University of Southern Mississippi on 20-23 February 1986.
