Some men crouch over him: police inspector talking to smiling cop. We see the onlookers only from chest down: two jeaned legs, hand on hip, boots, hips crushed. Soldier holding machine gun. Man's leg, hands in English tweed jacket pocket, observer. The poet is in dusty jeans, boots, cheap tank top, its bottom furled to show his navel. Belt unbuckled, half-open fly reveals white undershorts. Next to his right hand some blank sheets of paper. ...
