News from the Black Film Center/Archive

Novelist and screenwriter Sam Greenlee was a guest of the Black Film Center/Archive from March 21 to 23, 2010. Sam joined us for the symposium "Cinematic Representations of Racial Conflict in Real Time," which focused on Bob Young and Michael Roehmer's Nothing But a Man and Greenlee's own The Spook Who Sat by the Door. Among other archive-related activities, Sam met with students and attended a number of classes. With the support of IU Cinema director Jon Vickers, a screening of The Spook Who Sat by the Door was held at the newly renovated IU Cinema.
