About the Authors and Editors S. Jonathan Bass is a graduate student in the history department of the University of Tennessee at KnoxviUe. Bass has worked as a pubUc relations director, a newspaper reporter and editor, and a freelance journalist. James L. Leloudis is assistant professor of history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Leloudis is coauthor of Like a Family: The Making of a Southern Cotton Mill World and review editor for Southern Cultures. David Moltke-Hansen is director of the Southern Historical and Folklife Collections, curator of manuscripts at the library, and director of the Center for the Study of the American South at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Moltke-Hansen is associate editor of Southern Cultures and writes on southern intellectual history. Herbert J. Hartsook is curator of Modern Political Collections at the South Caroliniana Library, University of South Carolina. Paul Harvey is an American historian and a postdoctoral scholar with the LUIy Fellows Program at Valparaiso University. His manuscript Religion, Race, and Region: White Baptists, Black Baptists, and the Religious Cultures of the American South, 1865-1925, is forthcoming from the University of North Carolina Press. Charles Joyner is Burroughs Professor of History at Coastal Carolina University. King is professor of American Studies at the University of Nottingham.
