CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS ISSUE Kenneth H. Williams is assistant editor of The Papers of Jefferson Davis at Rice University, Houston, Texas. The eighth volume of the Davis Papers, covering the year 1862, was published in 1994. Anthony Gene Carey is assistant professor of history at Auburn University . He received a Ph.D. from Emory University in 1992 and is working on a book on antebellum Georgia politics. Warner D. Farr, lieutenant colonel, U.S. Army, heads the Department of Pathology at the Colonel Florence A. Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He has written numerous articles on military medical history and on the Civil War in the TransMississippi . James Marten is associate professor of history at Marquette University and author of Texas Divided: Loyalty and Dissent in the Lone Star State, 1856-1874 (1990). He is currently writing a book about Northern and Southern children during the Civil War. ...
