He has written on Jefferson and Lincoln and is currently working on a study of Lincoln's life in the years 1831 to 1846. With Rodney O. Davis, he is editing the letters and interviews on Abraham Lincoln collected by William H. Herndon. Andrew C. Holman is a Ph.D. student in history at York University in Toronto, Canada. He is currently researching a dissertation on middle-class formation in three Ontario towns, 18501890 . J. Tracy Power is Staff Historian of the South Carolina State Historic Preservation Office, at the South Carolina Department of Archives and History.
