CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS ISSUE Richard M. McMurry, adjunct professor of history at North Carolina State University, is the author of Two Great Rebel Armies: An Essay in Confederate Military History. Ludwell H. Johnson, III, professor ofhistory at the College of William and Mary, is participating in the writing of a history of the college on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of its founding. Howard C. Westwood is a partner in the law firm of Covington & Burling, Washington, D.C., and has published numerous articles on the Civil War. Kevin J. Weddle is an assistant professor of military history at the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York.
