CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS ISSUE Stephen W. Sears is the author of George B. McClellan: The Young Napoleon, to be published soon, and the editor of The Civil War Papers of George B. McClellan: Selected Correspondence, 18601865 , forthcoming in 1989. Edwin C. Fishel, of Arlington, Va., was associated with the National Security Agency and its predecessors, the Signal Intelligence Service and the Army Security Agency, from 1941 to 1972, ending his government career as head of the National Cryptologie School Press. His book, The Secret War for the Union, a study of Federal intelligence, is nearing completion. Edward Hagerman is associate professor of history at Atkinson College, York University, Toronto.
