CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS ISSUE Albert Castel, professor ofhistory at Western Michigan University, is the author of several books about the Civil War in the West. Ward M. McAfee is professor of history at California State University , San Bernardino. He is the author and editor of several books, one of which concerns the origins of the Mexican War, as well as a number of articles on California history. William L. Richter, of Tuscon, Arizona has completed a booklength manuscript on the army's role in Texas during Reconstruction , which will be published later this yearby Texas A&M University Press. Robert D. Sawrey, associate professor of history at Marshall University , is currently working on a study of attitudes in Ohio on Reconstruction policies and Reconstruction-related issues. ...
