Larry Schweikart is an assistant professor of history at the University of Dayton. He has just completed a book on banking in the American South. Earl J. Hess is a doctoral candidate in American Studies at Purdue University. John L. Myers is professor of history at State University of New York, Plattsburgh. Many of his former publications have examined the agency system of the antislavery movement. James Marten is a doctoral candidate and assistant instructor at the University of Texas at Austin. His dissertation will examine loyalty and disloyalty to the Confederacy in Texas. Herman BeIz is professor of history at the University of Maryland, College Park.
