CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS ISSUE Herman BeIz, associate professor of history at the University of Maryland, is the author of A New Birth of Freedom: The Republican Party and Freedmens Rights, 1861-1866. Richard Paul Fuke is an assistant professor of history at Wilfrid Laurier University. Lewis Perry, associate professor of history at the State University of New York at Buffalo, is the author of Radical Abolitionism: Anarchy and the Government of God in Antislavery Thought.
