ANNOUNCEMENTS The Editors of Philosophy and Literature welcome the appearance of a new English/French journal, Texte, published annuedly. Texte explores the different meanings of the term "text" and "the different criticed perspectives which have been brought to bear on it." Two new British graduate programs may be of interest to our readers. The University of Weirwick now offers a Combined Honours Degree in Philosophy and Literature. As described in announcements received, the program looks to be very thoughtfully planned. Seminars are jointly conducted by members of Warwick's literature and philosophy depeirtments, and efforts are made to accommodate the particular research interests of individual students. The Weirwick program offers an M.A. degree, as does the new Philosophy and the Humanities progreim of the Depetrtment of Philosophy, University ofEssex, Essex C04 3SQ. Lectures and seminars are on topics in philosophy, literature, and literary criticism. Attention is also given to genered issues in the theory of eirt euid the philosophy of the humetnities. We weurmly recommend that North American students wishing to pursue graduate work in these areas contact the directors of these interdisciplinary programs. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will sponsor a teaching institute and reseeirch conference on Marxist cultural theory inJune andJuly of 1983. The Nijhoff International Philosophy Series announces a conference on the philosophy ofJohn Wisdom, to be held at Cambridge University in August of 1983. The Thirteenth International Phenomenology Congress, focusing on the work of Paul Ricoeur, will be held in Paris in mid-June 1983.
