THE NEW EDITORCivil War History takes pleasure in announcing the appointment of Robert Dykstra as editor, effective July 1, 1962. Mr. Dykstra's published articles, his experience in editing the work of others, and his training in sound scholarship augur well for the future of this journal. And, although the name of James I. Robertson, Jr., appears as editor for the last time on this June 1962 issue, he has promised Mr. Dykstra his continued support and aid. Now Executive Director of the Civil War Centennial Commission, Mr. Robertson joins the distinguished group which comprises the Editorial Advisory Board. Much consideration has been given to effecting this change in command smoothly. The high editorial standards our readers have come to expect will be maintained. Civil War History will continue to publish readable, interesting contributions to our knowledge of the period, based on solid, scholarly investigation. Mr. Dykstra will continue the effective editorial guidance of Mr. Robertson. The transition will indicate only continued growth. ...
