We the Subscribers associated under the name and for the purposes hereinafter set forth being desirous of availing ourselves of the provisions of An Act of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania entitled An Act to provide for the incorporation and regulation of certain Corporations, Approved April 29, 1874, do Certify. I.The name of the Association shall be Friends' Historical Association. II.The purpose for which it is formed is the establishment of a repository for such Books, Manuscripts, and other material as may be secured to elucidate the History of the Society of Friends, and the creation of an incentive to action in kindred pursuits. III.The place where its business is to be transacted is The City of Philadelphia. IV.Its existence shall be perpetual. V.Its directors shall be Fourteen in number.
