Congratulations to Kathryn Lofton (Department of Religious Studies, Yale University), whose article “Queering Fundamentalism: John Balcolm Shaw and the Sexuality of a Protestant Orthodoxy,” published in September 2008 (JHS volume 17, number 3), won the LGBT Religious Archives Network Award for best essay of the year published in religious history.

Notice to readers on the Supercourse

The Supercourse is a global repository of annotated PowerPoint presentations on public health for educational purposes, created by Professor Ronald Laporte of the University of Pittsburgh. It now contains over 4,500 presentations by over 46,000 scholars in 26 languages, representing 172 countries. The oversight committee of the Supercourse, which maintains quality control of these presentations, includes nine former Nobel Prize winners, a former United States Surgeon General, and sixty-one members of the Institute of Medicine. The annotated PowerPoint presentations in the Supercourse are available for free either on the Internet or as free CDs. You can view this website at: http://www.bibalex.org/supercourse/. One of the growing components of the Supercourse is the increasing number of annotated PowerPoint presentations on the history of medicine, public health, and science, including the history of human sexuality. You can view this part of the Supercourse at: http://www.pitt.edu/~super1/History/history.htm. The Supercourse is actively searching for top quality scholars who are willing to share their scholarship in this area with the world by providing their annotated PowerPoint presentations through the Supercourse. Contact Dr. Jonathon Erlen at erlen@pitt.edu or 412-648-8927 for more information on how to get involved in spreading knowledge of human sexuality to a world-wide audience.
