- Letter to the Editor
A misunderstanding has arisen from the final sentence in my review of the new Norton edition of Byron in your last issue. I did not mean to imply that Professor Levine had downloaded a note from the internet, but that I had, in the middle of the night, and had forgotten having done so the next morning. The penultimate sentence of my review should thus read: 'It is also flattering to find one's own online edition quoted: however, inspection of the learned English note on page 44 to the obscure Latin note to Childe Harold, I, 58, 1–2 (which I did not know I had written) does lead me to suspect that it was downloaded by me straight from the Web at 3am.'
Yours,
Peter Cochran. [End Page 169]
