Twenty Years Later

TWENTY YEARS LATER Editor's note.—The first number of Perspectives was published Autumn 1957. The fact thatPerspectives is alive and well after 20 years is due in large measure to those who wrote the first provocative essays. Our friend Mike Krahl was among the first scientists to respond to an invitation to write for the new journal. Perhaps the concept of a biomedical journal devoted to the publication of ideas was frightening to some. To others itjust did not seem like a very exciting endeavor.
