Remembering Diaspora, Forgetting the Global? Emerging Cosmopolitics in Contemporary Greece

Mobility constitutes a normative characteristic of the traditions and the historical development of the region of Modern Greece. Revisiting the history of the nation, not in its own terms, but in the terms of globality, and focusing on issues related to migration and diaspora, highlight the role that mobility and stasis play in the constitution of the social and the political in contemporary Greece. They also highlight some of the regional emergences of globality and of the conflict, crisis and expectations that these emergences provoke.
