JiISTORICAL NEWS The Spring Meeting of Friends Historical Association was held in conjunction with the Friends Social Union on First Day, Fifth Month 12th, 1968, in Swarthmore, Pa., Friends Meetinghouse. Friends had the opportunity earlier to attend Swarthmore Meeting, have dinner in Swarthmore College's Sharpies Dining Hall, and to see the new quarters of Friends Historical Library, housed in the College's McCabe Library. Frederick B. Tolles spoke briefly on the history of Friends Historical Library and described its holdings of printed books and manuscripts , and also called attention to another part of the Library, the Swarthmore College Peace Collection. Caroline Robbins of Bryn Mawr College then spoke of the long history of the plans for the publication of William Penn's papers, and described recent encouraging attempts to revive this project. She emphasized the lasting value of Penn's political, educational, and religious writings. The meeting concluded with refreshments served by Swarthmore Meeting in Whittier House. In the note "A Woolman Manuscript," Quaker History, LVII (Spring, 1968), 40-41, its editor, Henry J. Cadbury, referred to a missing document drafted and signed by John Woolman, transferring property from himself to his "weakly" brother Abner.
