EL MENTIDERO DE COMEDIANTES The program for the special seminar on Golden Age literature organized and chaired by José A. Madrigal (Auburn University) for the 32nd Mountain Interstate Foreign Language Conference, held at the Wake Forest Inn, 7-9 October, 1982 was as follows: Everett W. Hesse (California State University, San Diego), «The comedia as a Theater of the Mind»; Frederick de Armas (Louisiana State University ), «Imperial Renovatio in Calderón's La gran Cenobio»; Alva V. Ebersole (University of North Carolina), «£7 acero de Madrid y las bobas de Lope»; Robert Fiore (Michigan State University), «Skepticism : A Literary Expression.» Direction of a new series of critical editions of Golden Age plays has been undertaken by Kurt and Roswitha Reichenberger, who invite contributions of edited plays (address: D-35 Kassel, Pfannkuchstr. 12). Co-editors of the series are Don W. Cruickshank and Alberto Porqueras. The Consejo de Dirección consists of Dámaso Alonso, Charles V. Aubrun, Juan Manuel Blecua. Jean Canavaggio, Hans Flasche, Alfredo Hermenegildo, Everett W. Hesse, José Antonio Maravall, Franco Meregalli, A.A. Parker, Guiseppe Carlo Rossi, Juan Manuel Rozas, Francisco Ruiz Ramón, and A.J. Valbuena Briones. The first volume scheduled is José M. Ruano's edition of Calderón's Cada uno para si; the second is Calderón's Fieras afemina amor, begun by E.M. Wilson and completed by Cecilia Bainton.
