EL MENTIDERO DE COMEDIANTES A symposium on «Calderón and the Baroque Tradition» will be held at the University of Toronto on 10-11 April 1981. Contact Professor Kurt L. Levy, Chairman, Department of Spanish and Portuguese, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario M5S IAl, for details. The annual Comediantes' dinner-meeting will take place this December 28, from 6-9 PM, in the Florentine Room of the Houston Sheraton. Total price for the meal is $20.88, including tax and service. Professor William R. Blue, Department of Spanish and Portuguese, University of Kansas, Lawrence 66045, is in charge of arrangements. The following papers were read at a joint session of the CSRS/SCER and CAH/ACH on May 29, 1980: Louise Fothergill-Payne (Univ. of Calgary),«The Search for a Formula: Spanish Theatre between 1570 and 1590»; Dawn Smith (Trent Univ.), «El concepto de la Fortuna en La vida y muerte de Herodes de Tirso de Molina»; and Roger Moore (St. Thomas Univ.),«Distorted Temporal Reality and Permanent Reality in El mágico prodigioso.» Professor Moore served as session chairman. The program for the Calderón symposium to be held at UCLA on March 5-7, 1981 is now complete. The Forum section of the Bulletin has not flourished to the extent that the Editor had anticipated. Can it be that there is nothing of a polemical nature in these pages? In any event, that section is well supplied in this issue with two pieces for which I could find no other suitable home, since neither is precisely 205 206Bulletin ofthe Comediantes an article or a review, and since each is too lengthy to figure among the brief notes of the Mentidero.
