Abstract

During the past decade, the disability community has witnessed and helped bring about tremendous strides in the recognition of the many and diverse needs of disabled persons and in the establishment of programs and services designed to meet those specific needs. This article provides a broad overview of some of the major legislation which has established programs of particular interest to deaf, hard-of-hearing, and deaf-blind persons. Recent legislative changes and regulatory developments of these laws are also discussed.
