Abstract

Enrollment reported by 62 public residential schools to the Annual Survey of Hearing Impaired Children and Youth between 1970-71 and 1978-79 is examined nationally and in four distinct regions of the country and is compared to enrollment patterns in the general school population during the same period. Also discussed here are ethnic background, handicapping conditions in addition to the hearing impairment, and age of the students in these schools for the same period.
