Chapter 22: Apple Tree: Branches Instructional Materials Used in the Apple Tree Program

Language teachers use media resources also. These teachers of the hearing impaired are very special and have very special needs. Because of the unique problems of leaching language to deaf children, a large percent of the materials used with these students for instructional, reinforcement, remedial, and evaluation must be teacher made, so a variety of visual aids is a must.

APPLE TREE: BRANCHES is a presentation of teacher-designed instructional materials useful in daily classroom teaching. The media methods and materials presented will be of interest for teaching simple language principles or more difficult English concepts.

A variety of instructional media for the overhead will be shown, along with ideas for the slide files, 8mm single concept units, videotapes, and helpful ideas for "hands on" materials.
