Abstract

The experience of interviewing for a job can be traumatic and unnerving unless the interviewee is well prepared. Opportunities to leant appropriate interviewing techniques are very limited to the general population and are almost nonexistent for hearing-impaired job seekers. This series of videotapes facilitates the learning of interviewing techniques by providing hearing-impaired persons an opportunity to view the dynamics of interviewing in three different situations. These situations include models of excellent and poor interviews by hearing and hearing-impaired job applicants. The opportunity to view these dynamics is critical for hearing-impaired persons who need every advantage possible in the interviewing process.
