Abstract

Professionals, students, and interested lay persons who want to locate literature on deafness are often at a loss as to what journals to read. Because the topic of hearing loss crosses many professional specializations, information on it appears in a wide variety of publications. Similarly, the scholar who wishes to publish his or her research or other writings is frequently confused as to which journals are appropriate and the type of manuscripts they might accept.

The purpose of this article is to provide a cursory overview of some of the major publications which treat the subject of deafness. An appendix listing these journals, their addresses, and editors is included.
