Abstract

This study assessed the difference between a hearing-impaired college group and a normally hearing college group on their academic motivation to improve their English writing skills. The students in the groups attended the Rochester Institute of Technology. It was expected the normally hearing college group would be more motivated, but no significant difference in motivation was found (p > .05). The results suggested that both groups of students were similar in their academic motivation to improve English writing skills.
