Schools and Programs in the U.S. Introduction Information on schools and programs for deaf and hard of hearing children and youth in the United States is provided in two sections. These sections are: 1. Directory Listing for 1999 (pages 80-121) alphabetized by state and city, this listing includes program name, address, telephone number, and administrator or contact person. 2. Program and Services Chart for 1999 (pages 122-147) alphabetized by state and program name, information on each of the programs in the directory, including program type (residential /day; public/private), number of students enrolled, services offered (e.g., parent-infant program, continuing education), and communication methodology used in the classroom.
